CPT Carbon Planning Tool Description- Define Plan- Define Period
How to define a period on your carbon plan
Define Period
After completing a carbon profile, you will need to define the time parameters for your emission reduction plan.
This will involve selecting a base year, the emissions from which will be used as a reference for setting your emission reduction goal.
You will also need to define the term, or length, of your plan, as well the period, which is how frequently you will report data.
As you proceed through the steps of this process, click on any term for an explanation.
Base Year
The base year is a date, in month and year format, whose GHG emissions data is used as a reference to set an emissions reduction goal. For example, you might try to reduce your emissions to 50% of January 2006 (Jan-06) levels by January 2010 (Jan-10).
Term
Term is the span of time in years, half years or Quarters over which you plan on meeting your emission reduction goal.
Period
Your period is how frequently you report your emissions reduction data. You may record your carbon footprint on a yearly, semi-annually, or quarterly basis.
