This seminar examines the most current practical and policy issues relating to emissions from existing buildings as the government consults on the Heat and Energy Saving Strategy.  The meeting will bring together key policy makers with industry stakeholders and other interested parties to discuss the potential for the Strategy in terms of incentives for small scale renewables and greater energy efficiency.

Keynote speaker: Hergen Haye, Head of Distributed Energy and Heat Policy, Department of Energy and Climate Change.

Other confirmed speakers include: Michael Black, Group Development Director, Bovis Homes; Richard Diment, Director General, Federation of Master Builders; Susan Pelmore, Head of Policy Instruments, Renewable Energy Association; and Dr David Strong, Chief Executive, Inbuilt. Further senior speakers are being approached and we are awaiting confirmation of diaries.

Sessions will look at:

·         The practicalities of reaching the Government’s 2015 target to insulate all cavity walls and lofts where practical;

·         The potential for more substantial changes to homes such as solid wall insulation and small scale energy generation;

·         The proposed Community Energy Saving Programme and the likely effectiveness of Home Energy Advice; and

·         Financial incentives – managing the cost of investment.
