This seminar focuses on the most current practical and policy issues relating to the implementation of the UK’s carbon targets. It follows the inaugural report from the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) and will bring together policy makers in Government and Parliament with key stakeholders.
The agenda is structured to pick up on central themes highlighted by the recent report and is timed to coincide with the Government’s response.
Planned sessions look at:
- The government’s latest plans following the CCC’s report;
- The practicalities: the role of carbon markets in meeting the targets and the legal challenges;
- The economic and social implications of the proposed carbon budgets; and
- The role of the traded and non-traded sectors in delivering emissions reduction.
This meeting is organised on the basis of strict impartiality by the Westminster Energy, Environment & Transport Forum.
